so let's give it up for the new year
Monday, January 1, 2007 at 07:10PM Since coming to college in the fall of 2004, I've changed and experienced more than I ever thought possible. I've done things I only dreamed about: lived (twice) in a country so beautiful and mysterious that it forever changed my outlook on life, visited countries and cities so magical that I returned a completely different person, gotten involved on campus and taken on several student leadership roles.
2006 was an impressive year for me; although there were plenty of pitfalls and depressing moments (Uncle Tim's death, The Divorce), they were not so significant as to overshadow all the successes I enjoyed. I make extensive plans for the future, creating many varied scenarios of opportunity depending on where my life takes me, yet I've also embraced a new perspective, deciding to live moment to moment, enjoying the small victories and finding beauty in the every day. This is what makes me happy-feeling secure in what the future holds for me, yet also reveling in the unexpected.
I know that this year holds many surprises for me, many opportunities to expand my perspective and change my dreams, which is why I've resolved to continue living in the moment and embrace the changes that are in store.
