leaving the country
Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 10:11PM I'm leaving the country
I'm leaving today
Taking the noon train
Down the coast through L.A.
It's not just a weekend
A simple getaway
I'm leaving the country
I'm leaving today
Mexico's fine this time of year
Stars are divine in the south hemisphere
Deserted south pacific
Isle off the charts
There's where I'll find
The pieces of my, my broken heart
I'm leaving the country
I'm leaving today
Jumping the queen's ship
And I'm off to Calais
Tomorrow is waiting
I shouldn't be late
I'm leaving the country
I'm leaving today
Summer in France outside Paris
An autumn romance of the Caspian Sea
A Greek tragedy, I imagine my part
There's where I'll find
The pieces of my, my broken heart
I'm leaving the country
I'm leaving today
I'm bound for nowhere
And nowhere I'll stay
It's not a vacation
It's no holiday
I'm leaving the country
I'm leaving today
I'm leaving the country
I'm leaving today

I've had this cd for a while now, yet I don't really remember ever hearing this song, until I started making my travel playlist tonight. Its funny how appropriate it is for my life right now.
Today was interesting. I woke up early to go to breakfast only to have mom cancel on me, so I went back to sleep and stayed in bed until 11. I woke up then, to find out that our cell phone service had been disconnected because they forgot to pay their half of the bill. I had to figure all that out with dad and then finally got my phone working again. I took a shower, cleaned my room, and finished up my laundry. Caitlin and I had dinner with Dad at McAlisters, which was surprisingly nice and normal. When I got home, Mom was asleep on the couch so we missed church. She woke up in enough time to make a quick Target run for the last of my trip stuff, and then we stopped over at Starbucks so I could tell Sonia good-bye.
I finally got everything packed. It helped to actually have dry clothes and all of the stuff I needed from the store. Now I'm getting ready to activate my international SIM card from Cingular so I don't have to mess with phone cards this summer. Although the rates are still quite high so I won't be talking on the phone except to call and tell them I'm alive.
We have to be at UINDY around 9:30 in the morning, but we don't actually leave the US until 7pm; we are driving to Chicago to catch our flight there because it was cheaper.
Check the xanga I set up for my travels, I'll be back on this one in about two weeks.
