It was so hot in our apartment last night that I put my sheets and nightgown in the freezer for half an hour before I went to bed.
And we all had to move our mattresses into the living room because the heat was unbearable in the rest of the apartment. We had to sleep with the windows and shutters open, with our balcony on street level it meant that anyone walking by could see right through the sheer curtains we have, but it was so hot that was our only option. We barricaded the balcony with a set of coffee tables so that no one could climb in, although this neighborhood is really safe so there really wasn't a chance of that happening.
We were supposed to get fans on Tuesday and they have yet to arrive.
Its starting to make us all really angry, it was so hot yesterday that I started seeing spots when I stood up to go to class.
Anywho, enough of my complaining. We are leaving on a boat bound for Santorini at 10:00 tonight!! We arrive at 8:00 tomorrow morning and will have four whole days of bliss. I think we're almost as excited about the prospect of air conditioned hotel rooms as we are about seeing the actual island and getting out of the city. Should be tons of fun, we plan on spending all day tomorrow on the beach or in the pool at the hotel.
We stocked up on groceries last night and have a supply of bananas, toast, croissants, and juice for the boat ride and snacks on the beach tomorrow. We also went to the Hondos center and stocked up on magic mousse and hairspray-the Organics brand that I bought last year is still amazing, so we are all now obsessed with it and will probably be bringing it back to the US in bulk. We also found a new gyro stand near our apartment, which is very exciting-now we don't have to walk all the way to plaka if we get hungry.
Much work to do before then: I must finish my paper (b/c I'm so good at procrastinating), study for my midterm, take my midterm, and then come back to the apartment and pack.

GotD: ti kanis - how are you?
P.S. I'm totally addicted to Greek yogurt-it is amazing. I just had something called a Silouet cereals for breakfast, its a peach yogurt with bits of granola in it and I mix local honey in it to make it sweeter. Yogurt and honey is officially my new favorite meal.
