Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 03:28AM I think I'm going to write an article on how to deal when your study abroad experience doesn't turn out the way you expected. As much stuff as I've read about study abroad over the last two years, nothing has ever touched on that. I feel like I have plenty of experience now.
Last night, after posting my little journal rant, I crawled in bed with several hours worth of Scrubs and Gilmore Girls on tv-links and managed to nearly cheer myself up. Then, via a series of facebook messages and an AIM conversation, Sonia and I planned our awesome outings for when I get home. She's going to meet me at the airport! And then, on the 21st, we are going to see Guster at White River State Park! And on the 29th, as part of our day trip to Chicago, we are going to see a matinée production of Wicked! I can't wait. I'm also getting excited about my photography class, I need to start working on the photo-shoot assignments and reading since I'll be missing the first day of class.
I also can't wait to get back to Raleigh. As many issues as I had with Meredith this year, they are nothing compared to the drama/crap that I've had to deal with on the UINDY Athens end of things. Senior year is going to be daunting, but it should also be A LOT of fun. I'm excited about being an RA again, I've already got some good ideas for programs worked up, and I'm excited about the new suite mate! Living with C should be awesome. It's going to be weird not having Ashley and Jill right there, but I've already been invited over to the JApt for the first weekend! I'm also looking forward to the plans already in place for this fall...Augustana is playing the Sizzlin' September concert and then on Fall Break I get to go to Andy's wedding in Connecticut. There's also another ResLife conference in October and I'll hopefully get to go to that.
I'm off to the office. I've got to get about 5 hours in today since we are leaving for the West Coast tomorrow. I'm almost finished editing the huge pre-departure information packet and need to start on the informational letter I'm also writing about preparing for the experience. I need to start calculating my hours to figure out how much credit I'm going to get for this, it's going to be somewhere near 3-4 hours, which will be awesome.

I'm glad to know you too Melody. Your comments always cheer me up and your list of scriptures yesterday really helped me get my head straight. Hope your day is going better. We are going to have to have major catch up time when I get home, you, me, and Whitney.

I am just so glad to know you, R. I had a headachy kind of office day and reading your blog helps to clear my head.
I know several people who have seen Wicked and they all loved it. And Chicago....well,...it's just one of my favorite cities :)
