giveaway day!
Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 07:00AM Sew, Mama, Sew is organizing the super awesome May Giveaway Day, so in the spirit of my hellasgood reminisces I decided to play along and spread some Greek love to one lucky winner.
One of the best parts of spending summers in Athens were our early morning trips to the local bakery for a loaf of fresh bread (psomi).
For the giveaway, I've whipped up a hand embroidered bread bag and am including my favorite recipe for psomi and a tiny packet of meli (Greek honey) so you can enjoy your own Greek snack. To round out the giveaway goodies, head on over to my etsy shop and let me know which print you'd like.
:: entry details ::
Leave me a comment with your dream vacation destination, and I'll randomly pick a winner. This month's tight budget won't allow for international shipping, so US residents only please.
The giveaway will stay open until May 31 and the winner will be contacted by email.
And don't forget to check out the other giveaway opportunities on Sew, Mama, Sew!

sunset on cape sounio, wow, what great giveaway. it's a little piece of greece :)
My grandmother used to read me Greek myths when I was little and I used to know many of them, which started my interest in Greece. Several years ago, I watched my favorite Rory Gilmore play Lena in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, immediately cementing my curiosity about Greece. Then you come along and share your amazing photographs. There. It's done. I have to go to Greece.
My husband and I went on a cruise to 10 Greek Islands a few years ago and loved it... my dream vacation right now is probably Turkey.
Thanks for this fabulous, unique giveaway!
I like the rusted door handle.
The best part of giveaway day has been discovering so many great blogs :)

I love the idea of including a recipe with your give away! I'm always on the look out for something new to try in the kitchen or my sewing room.
Your Greek giveaway is delightful. My cousin is married to a wonderful lady who was born in Greece, but adopted by Americans. A couple of years ago, she found her birth mother in Greece and went to visit for a few weeks. This prize of yours would make such a fun gift for her! We are not going on a vacation this year, but I would love to go to Scotland/Ireland
and stay in a castle for a couple of nights. I have a friend who is doing just that.
Many thanks, Cindi

What a fabulous giveaway!
A few years ago I discovered Greek yogurt and it kicked of my love affair with all things Greek, I do hope to visit one day, but for right now I will have to settle for my Culinaria Greece cookbook and reading your wonderfully reminiscent posts.
Thanks!
My dream vacation is always the same: the next one! This year, we are spending a week in Vermont on the banks of Lake Champlain, just my husband and children and woods, water, and quiet. But last summer, my husband and I went by ourselves to Greece. A long-awaited destination for us, and we had a million reasons not to go, but we went anyway, and it was just as we dreamed. I still picture our view of the caldera in quiet Imerovigli and our Santorini sunsets on the water. I know you are going back this summer, and I have to recommend Chania on Crete if you haven't been there yet. The food is the best we had in Greece, and the people were lovely. It was our favorite place by far.
the old port in oia is such a beautiful photo. I have to say that I've been daydreaming of going to Greece since watching the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and I see someone else in your comments said the same thing. Strange. Beautiful photos and a lovely blog. thanks for sharing. ( :
